Since our last post, we've completed the second rough-cut of the film, and it is a really solid film, so far. The stress of screening a good rough-cut on May 8th in Sylvania, OH is now gone. Now we can look forward to it. Just completed our screening questionnaire, DVDs burned and ready, flights booked... See you there!

Editing is well underway. Just cut a television spot for the May 8th screening and Racing for Recovery benefit dinner; to run on Buckeye Cable in Sylvania, Ohio and surrounding markets. We have one hour of cut footage on the timeline... Whoo Hoo! 2/3rds there. Wish us luck for May 8th!

We just concluded the last of Todd's interviews for the film. He poured his heart out... Should make for a good documentary. Just reviewed the footage; wow!

Just arrived back to home base: production crew is a little tired, but raring to go for another round. We'd like to thank Karen Morton-Clark at Dare Mighty Things for a warm reception, flying us in, putting us up at a comfortable hotel, and showing us around town. Good week of shooting.

Nov 4-6, 2009
RWD Production team to join Todd Crandell in New Hampshire to film a series of speaking engagements, sponsored by Dare Mighty Things, among them a reception at the Governor's House Bed & Breakfast, the Stafford County Jail, Dover Alternative School and Exeter High School. Todd will also be running in the Seacoast Half Marathon Road Race on the following Sunday.

Today we interviewed Blair LaHaye, the Director of Communications for Ironman, oddly enough headquartered in our backyard, Tampa. It was a very good interview, one in which I hope will shed some light on the relationship between Ironman and Todd. Great stuff!

Just wrapped up an interview with Kay M. Doughty, V.P of Family and Community Services for Operation PAR. Good interview.

Although production hasn't wrapped completely, Producer & Post-Production Supervisor, J. Declan Flynn is in post-production, combing through hours of HD footage from the Canadian-unit. The Ohio-unit is scheduled for mid-September. The RWD production team expects to wrap production in October. More to come.

That's a wrap! Footage in the can. Todd's exhausted, and so is the Canadian production unit. Going home. More to come. All amazing stuff! Check out the RWD Facebook page for video-blogs and photos...

So far everything is going great. Amazing footage! Dave Barrett, our DP and Cameramen, Scott Reus and Dave Haas have done a great job. Almost done. Todd is simply incredible.

We're here! The weather is crazy. It's dry, but hotter than expected. Todd is doing great, as expected. We've retro-fitted the minivan to work for us, and it's fine. Gotta run. More soon.

We head out tomorrow, a 12-hour plan ride to British Columbia, Canada. Record temperatures of 100+ degrees being reported. So much for the cooler weather. Wish our 4-man team a lot of success and Todd Crandell, God speed!

Ohio was an eye opening experience. Had technical difficulties with the P2 cam we brought, but we've got good test footage. Now onto Canada!

July 12, 2009
A week before principal photography, the Ohio-unit prepares a list of hard-hitting questions for the first of interviews with Todd Crandell. Our flight to Toledo leaves on Thursday, July 16th at 7:00 AM. Wish us luck!

Our meeting with documentary filmmaker, Gina Angelone was an eye-opening experience. As narrative storytellers, if the story isn't going our way, it's easy to change a line of dialogue or the plot to right the story. In a documentary, reality rules. It was a good meeting.

Everything is in place. Just weeks now before our Canadian-unit travels to Penticton, British Columbia for the Ultraman Endurance race, our team is in place, our equipment list is also complete. Excitement is at an all-time high.
