When the high of playing hockey at a level where NHL
scouts take notice wore off, Todd Crandell turned to alcohol and drugs. It was inevitable the ice would
soon melt, and so would his dreams.
Years of alcohol and drug abuse took its toll, until one day in 1993 (April 15, 1993); Todd finished his last drink,
knowing he could no longer continue.
Running With Demons is a tale of a hopeful athlete who’s haunted by thirteen
years his abuse took on himself and others; terrified his journey to atonement could end in him giving
up on the race of his life.
As we follow Todd Crandell on a 318.6-mile Ultraman Endurance race across scenic roads, lake and
countryside of British Columbia, we witness the pain, the agony, and maybe the defeat or victory of Todd
Crandell’s life as he runs with the demons from his past.
